Mysuru: A public awareness rally on proper management of bio-medical waste was organised yesterday by Department of Health and Family Welfare in city as part of a project initiated by United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) on ‘Environmentally sound management of bio-medical waste in India.’
Over 200 Nursing School students and staff of Department of Health and Family Welfare participated in the rally which took off in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and passed through Ashoka Road and Irwin Road before culminating near the DC’s office.
The participants held placards with messages on proper disposal of biomedical waste keeping environmental protection in mind.
K.R. Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Sreenivas, District Health Education Officer Dr. Prakash, District Surgeon Dr. Pashupathi and others were present.
