Mysuru: As part of National Fuel Conservation Day, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) in association with Rotary Clubs had organised an awareness rally on conservation of fuel in city, yesterday.
About 200 members of KREDL, Rotary Clubs and students participated in the rally carrying placards with messages on saving fuel, alternative fuel and solar power.
The rally was flagged off by Karnataka Exhibition Authority CEO N.M. Shashikumar at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple which passed through Chamaraja Circle, Gandhi Square, K.T. Street, Irwin Road and Ashoka road back to the starting point.
Speaking on the occasion Shashikumar opined that the constant depletion of fossil fuel had necessitated discovery of alternative energy source. He pointed out that solar energy should be harvested thoroughly to conserve fuel.
KREDL Project Engineer, Mysuru Division D.K. Dinesh Kumar, Rotary District Governor Joseph Mathew, Assistant Governor Ramdas, Rotary Mysore West President C.S. Ravishankar and others were present.
