Sir,
Mysuru has recently seen awareness walkathons and cleanliness drives promoting a healthy lifestyle and a plastic-free environment. Many students and citizens participated enthusiastically in these initiatives.
During some campaigns around Kukkarahalli Lake, volunteers collected plastic bottles and other waste from public places, showing that such awareness efforts are being made.
However, even after these programmes, I still notice garbage in some public areas when I pass through parts of the city, including busy places like Devaraja Market. What is more concerning is that many people simply ignore it as if it is not their responsibility and some even throw waste carelessly.
These programmes are conducted for a purpose and should not remain just one-day events. Every citizen must take this message seriously and act responsibly so that Mysuru truly remains a clean city.
