B.S. Vijayaraghavan to receive ‘Rajya Sangeetha Vidwan’ Award

Mysuru:  Noted classical singer Vidwan B.S. Vijayaraghavan has been selected for this year’s ‘Rajya Sangeetha Vidwan’ Award which will be conferred on her by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa at the inaugural ceremony of Dasara cultural programmes at Mysore Palace premises on Sept. 29. His name was selected and sent to the government for approval by the Dasara Cultural Committee.

Eighty-five-year-old Vijayaraghavan is the retired principal of Fine Arts College, University of Mysore and he retired in 1996. Basically from Shivamogga, Vijayaraghavan shifted to Mysuru and is a resident of Kuvempunagar.
