Bengaluru: Days after the Karnataka High Court directed the CAT (Central Administrative Tribunal) to issue an order on IAS Officer B. Sharat’s petition questioning his premature transfer from the post of Mysuru Deputy Commissioner after just one month into his job last year, the CAT, while re-activating the Civil Services Board (CSB), has asked the State Government to review the IAS officer’s transfer order.
The High Court on Friday last, had directed the CAT to issue an order regarding the petition filed by Sharat questioning his premature transfer, within a fortnight.
The CAT in its order on Monday (Mar. 29), is said to have instructed the State Government to review Sharat’s transfer depending upon the recommendations of CSB.
The State Government had formed the CSB on Jan. 31, 2014 with the State Chief Secretary as it’s Chairman, Additional Chief Secretary as member and DPAR Secretary as the Co-ordinator. But it was inactivated on Mar.12, 2014 just weeks after it was formed.
Sharat, who took charge as Mysuru Deputy Commissioner on Aug. 29, 2020 following the transfer of Abiram G. Sankar, was transferred on Sept. 28, 2020. Later, Sharat moved the CAT questioning his transfer.
