Baandhavya, a two-day event for differently-abled from Dec. 7

Mysuru: Baandhavya-2024, a two-day sports and cultural event for differently-abled, organised by Rotary Mysore Midtown, RI Dist. 3181, will be held on Dec. 7 and 8, said Event Convenor Rtn. A.N. Aiyanna.

Addressing the press persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan, here yesterday,  he said that the event would be inaugurated by N. Ranga Rao & Sons CEO Arjun Ranga in the presence of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji on Dec. 7 at University of Mysore Athletic Grounds (Oval Ground) at 9 am. 

RI Dist. 3181 Assistant Governor Rtn. Dr. K.A. Prahlad will be the guest of honour. Baandhavya-2024 Chairman Rtn. R. Venkatesh, Vice-Chairman Rtn. R. Ravindra Babu, Community Service Director Rtn. R. Nagaraj, Rotary Mysore Midtown President Rtn. S. Kumara Swamy and Hon. Secretary Rtn. Elizar Milton will be present.

The valedictory ceremony of the sports event will be held the same day at 4.30 pm.  Senior Theatre Person Indira Nair and RI Dist. 3181 District Governor-Elect Rtn. P.K. Ramakrishna will be the guests of honour.

Rotary Mysore Midtown has also organised cultural programmes for differently-abled on Dec. 8 at Manasa Kuteera, Dwarakanagar. The event will be inaugurated by cine actor Dharma Kirthiraj of Bigg Boss-fame at 4.30 pm. Karnatak Vocalist Rajath Sharma will be the guest of honour.

Baandhavya-2024 is designed to be a District-level sports meet on the lines of Special Olympics for differently-abled in association with SACADA (Sports and Cultural Academy for Differently Abled).  Over 500 students from 20 institutions in Mysuru will take part. Around 150 caretakers will join them with about 50 qualified officials and 100 trained volunteers from NCC, Rotaract and Interact to run the show.
