Mysuru: The three-day 18th Shravana Yuva Sangeetotsava organised by Shruthimanjari Foundation was held at Rotary West Auditorium in Saraswathipuram here recently.
The event was inaugurated by All India Radio-Mysuru Asst. Director H. Srinivas. He said that such events provided platform for the young artistes to showcase their talent and added that many artistes in North Karnataka look forward to perform during these music festivals.
He also added that talented artistes migrated from their natives to Bengaluru in search of opportunities. “Renowned artists Dr. Sreelatha and Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar and others were based in Mysuru to continue the legacy of music by passing on their knowledge to their students,” he said besides lauding the services of Shruthimanjari. Srinivas also congratulated Rotary Club of Mysore West for its continuous support to Shruthimanjari Foundation since 1998.
Rotary Club of Mysore West Rtn. Ravishankar presided. Later, both the guests handed over the certificates and cash prizes to the winners of various competitions in classical music.
