Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. R. Mukhopadhyay, Director (R&D), JK Tyre, Director & CE of Hari Shankar Singhania Elastomer &Tyre Research Institute, Mysuru and Chairman of Indian Rubber Institute, has been honoured with the “Distinguished Alumnus Award 2020” during the 66th Convocation of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, on Feb.23. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest.
Profile: Dr. Mukhopadhyay completed his graduation from University of Calcutta and MSc & Ph.D from IIT – Kharagpur. He started his career in the 70s as a Faculty in Applied Chemistry at IIT – Kharagpur and has more than 48 years of experience in Education, Training and Research in Rubber Science and Tyre Technology. He was instrumental in establishing “Dr. D. Banerjee Centre of Excellence” at JSS Technical Institutions Campus, Mysuru. This is a Nodal Centre for Rubber Technology Education, Training, Testing, Research and Skill Development in Karnataka including B.Voc course in Rubber Technology and various certificate programme as per different Job Roles of Rubber Skill Development Council (RSDC) under Skill India Mission proposed by the PM.
