Bags prestigious ISEES Young Scientist Award

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. K.S. Nithin, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Coordinator, Centre for Research and Development (CRD), the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, has been awarded the prestigious ISEES Young Scientist Award – 2021. The award is given away every year by the International Society for Energy, Environment and Sustainability – India, for outstanding achievements in the fields of energy, environment and sustainability. The award consists of a citation, a plaque and cash prize of Rs. 25,000.

Dr. Nithin Kundchira Subramani got the award in recognition of his research work in varied areas such as development of nano-structured materials for effluent treatment, polymer based composite materials for solar energy conversion and storage, mechanically flexible spectral manipulators for UV protection and sensing, electro-active smart materials for pressure sensing, and green polymer composites for fruit and vegetable packing. 

Incidentally, Dr. Nithin is the recipient of the Best Ph.D Thesis Award – 2019 by the same organisation for his outstanding doctoral research on polymer based nano-composites for energy harvesting applications. He has more than 110 publications in peer reviewed journals, authored 2 books, 9 book chapters and 1 monograph, according to Dr. N.V. Raghavendra, Principal, NIE, Mysuru.
