Bags VTU cash award for excellence in sports

National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, won the Visvesvaraya Technological University’s cash award of Rs. One lakh for excelling in sport events organised as a part of VTU Inter-collegiate Sports Activities during a function held at M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology in Bengaluru recently.

NIE scored 435 points in the VTU Inter-collegiate sports activities held during the year 2018-19. The college has also excelled in the VTU Inter Collegiate, Mysuru Zone and Inter Zone Sports competitions in chess, volleyball, basketball, yoga, throwball, softball, netball, table tennis, badminton and kho-kho sports. 10 students of the institute have represented VTU teams in Inter University Sports competitions including chess, softball, cricket, karate, baseball and athletics.
