Rangayana Mysuru has invited plays for its most popular Bahuroopi National Theatre Festival-2026, scheduled to be held from Jan. 12 to 18, 2026. The theatre festival will be titled ‘Bahuroopi Baba Saheb.’
According to a press release from Director of Rangayana, Satish Tiptur, the plays in multiple Indian languages including Kannada and English, have been invited from national-level troupes to remember the life, writings and movements of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, highlighting the stories of the oppressed and exploited classes. Apart from the main plays to be staged, children’s plays are also invited for ‘Makkala Bahuroopi.’
Interested national-level theatre troupes may download the applications from the website rangayanamysore.karnataka.gov.in and fill in the details of their troupe and the play, and attach the pen drive of the play.

Last date to send entries is Nov. 25, 2025.
The troupes selected for Bahuroopi will be entitled for honorarium and travel expenses. Local accommodation will be provided, the release added.
