Bakery gutted due to short circuit

Mysuru:  A bakery was gutted in a fire reportedly caused by short circuit in city yesterday midnight.

The fire took place at Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Bakery on Hootagalli Water Tank Road and bakery items, furniture and other items worth about Rs. 15 lakh have been destroyed.

Fire was noticed in the bakery belonging to Swamy last midnight and passersby immediately informed Hebbal Fire Station. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the spot along with a fire extinguishing vehicle had to forcibly open the rolling shutters of the bakery and managed to bring the fire under control besides preventing it from spreading further.

Vijayanagar Police and CESC officials inspected the spot. Vijayanagar Police have registered a case.
