Former MLA is contesting on a BJP ticket from Chamarajanagar LS seat
Mysore/Mysuru: It is important that people extend their support to BJP in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls to ensure Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a world leader through Viksit Bharat becomes a reality, said Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha Constituency BJP candidate S. Balraj here yesterday.
Addressing the meeting with the party leaders and workers at Yathri Bhavan Convention Hall in Nanjangud, Balraj said that PM Modi had ensured the country was among the top nations in the world through his able leadership in the past 10 years.
“PM Modi has introduced several schemes for the welfare of the poor. As a result, labourers, women farmers and others must support BJP to ensure PM Modi’s return to power for the third consecutive time. With BJP wave spread across the country, I request the people of Chamarajanagar LS Constituency to provide me an opportunity to serve them,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, State BJP Vice-President N. Mahesh said that at the time when country was reeling in corruption in 2013 it was PM Narendra Modi who strived hard and ensured the country bounced back to be among the 5th largest economy in the world. “PM Modi has a vision of taking our country to third position by 2029 and to the top position by 2047. People should support Balraj and BJP to strengthen PM Modi at the Centre and to ensure the party wins all LS seats in the State.
Former MLA B. Harshavardhan, addressing the party workers and leaders, said that while he was successful in getting Nugu Lift Irrigation project within 100 days of him being elected, the present MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan had totally failed despite completing 10 months in the office.
“Performing bhoomi pujas to the projects that were launched during my tenure is the only achievement of the present MLA,” he said and added that handing over the helm of affairs to leaders like Rahul Gandhi would be dangerous for the country.
“There is every chance of the present Siddaramaiah-led Government to fall on BJP winning majority of LS seats in the State. Though a vacuum has been created with the absence of V. Sreenivasa Prasad, I will try to fill in gap,” said Harshavardhan who urged the party workers to work hard in the booth level to ensure party candidate’s victory since it was a prestige issue for Nanjangud.
