Bannanje Raja brought to city for medical check

Mysuru:  Bannanje Raja, who was arrested in Casablanca, Morocco, on Feb.10, 2015 by a special investigative team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), was brought to Mysuru for medical check-up at K.R. Hospital this morning.

Sources in the Police Department said that Raja, who is wanted in more than 44 cases, was brought to Mysuru from Mangaluru Central Prison at 11.30 am and was taken to K.R. Hospital Casualty Ward for a medical check-up. Heavy Police security was in place when the dreaded don was brought.

Police sources said that Raja was brought to Mysuru last night based on the orders issued by Udupi Court.

He is facing a case under Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act and since Udupi comes under Mysuru Revenue Division, he was brought to Mysuru, sources added.

After the medical examination by the duty doctor, Bannanje Raja was taken back to Mangaluru jail and the Police are expected to produce the medical report to the Court.
