Bengaluru: Basanagouda Badarli, from Raichur district was elected as the new State Youth Congress President after the counting of votes ended in the State capital early this morning.
Basanagouda Badarli, 37, is the son of the younger brother of Sindhanur Congress MLA Hampanagouda Badarli.
Basanagouda defeated his nearest rival Kemparaju, who is said to be a follower of Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
There were 8 candidates in the fray and Basanagouda emerged victorious defeating his nearest rival Kempanna by a margin of over 9000 votes.
