Mysuru: As part of Shivasharane Akkamahadevi Jayanti, Basava Samithi had organised a function at Basava Bhavana in Vijayanagar here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, writer and singer Shweta Madappadi recalled that vachana chaluvali took form in the 12th century to eradicate social inequality for which Akkamahadevi was a crusader. She opined that ‘Vachana Kranthi’ now lies dormant in the annals of history.
On the occasion, Basava Samithi felicitated Shweta Madappadi. Samithi President H.V. Basavaraj Hinkal presided.
