BBMP car driver arrested for threatening city Cop

Mysuru: The Metagalli Police have arrested the driver of a BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) official for threatening Police officer by using the name of Chief Minister Siddharamaiah.

The arrested has been identified as Ramesh, a resident of Bengaluru. Mamatha, a Lady Police Sub-Inspector attached to V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station, was on a checking drive for drunken-driving near  Annayappa choultry on KRS Main Road on the night of May 3, when the car (KA-09 M-8595) driven by one Ramakrishna was stopped by the Police for checking.

As driver Ramakrishna was found to be drunk, the lady PSI was about to register a case against him, when Ramesh, an occupant of the car, claiming himself to be the driver of BBMP Joint Commission, threatened PSI Mamatha, taking the name of CM Siddharamaiah.

Later, Mamatha lodged a complaint with the Metagalli Police who arrested Ramesh on charges of threatening and obstructing the work of Police Officer.
