Inspiring batting performances by openers Siddesh Kishor Wath (108, 102b, 13×4, 2×6) and Atharva Yayati Taide (79,108b,7×4, 1×6), helped Vidarbha to register a 25-run win over Maharashtra in the BCCI Men’s U-23 One-Day Tournament ‘Plate A’ match played at JSS-SJCE Grounds, here yesterday.
Batting first, Vidarbha posted a good total of 290 for seven in 50 overs. Openers Siddesh Kishor Wath (108) and Atharva Yayati Taide (79) gave them a solid start by adding 189-runs for the opening wicket. Digvijay Rajkumar Deshmukh impressed with three for 63 for Maharashtra.
In reply, Maharashtra, were bowled out for 265 in 47.1 overs. Atharva Kalidas Kale (53) top scored. Digvijay Deshmukh (48), Mehul Sharad Patel (33) and Pavan Hukum Shah (30) were the other contributors. Darshan Nalkande bowled well for Vidarbha taking three for 37.
Prerit, Ikjot shine for Punjab
Excellent batting by Prerit Dutta (87, 117b, 7×4, 2×6) and a good all-round performance by Ikjot Singh Thid (42 & two for 22), helped Punjab to score 258 for eight in 50 overs against Baroda CA at PET, Mandya. Abhinav Sharma (59) and Kuwar Pathak (39) were the other contributors. Dhurv Patel impressed for Baroda taking four for 48. In reply, Baroda, were bowled out for 174 in 43 overs and Punjab registered an 84-run win.

Thanks to brilliant bowling by medium-pacer Ishan Pandey (five for 49), Gujarat registered a seven-wicket win over hosts Karnataka at the match played at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium.
