BCCI Under-19 Cooch Behar National Cricket Tournament: Karnataka beats Uttarakhand by an innings and 47 runs

Hosts Karnataka beat Uttarakhand by an innings and 47 runs on the third day of the 4-day Cooch Behar Under-19 National Cricket Tournament held at SDNR (Srikantadatta Narasimharaja) Wadiyar Stadium in Manasagangothri here yesterday.

Batting first, Uttarakhand scored 232 in the first innings, with Arav Mahajan scoring a century (127 runs) and Sanskar Ravat 43 runs. For Karnataka, Ishan and Dheeraj Gowda bagged three wickets each, while N. Samarth picked up two wickets. In reply, hosts Karnataka were all out for 404, thus gaining a massive first innings lead of 172 runs. In their second innings, Uttarakhand were bowled out for a paltry 125, thus leaving the hosts Karnataka with an Innings and 47 runs victory on the third day on Sunday, with a full day to spare.

For Karnataka, Prakhar Chaturvedi scored 151 runs, while K.P. Karthikeya too hit a century (121 runs) in the team total of 404. For Uttarakhand, Aditya Ravat bagged 4 wickets conceding 82 runs, while D.P. Singh and Krishna Garg claimed two wickets each.

In Uttarakhand’s first innings, Mysuru lad Ishan and Dheeraj Gowda claimed three wickets each, while N. Samarth bagged two wickets. In the Uttarakhand’s second innings, Yogesh was the highest scorer with 54 Not Out. For Karnataka, Dheeraj Gowda bagged 3 wickets conceding 31 runs, while N. Samarth and S. Ishan bagged two wickets each.

Team India’s Head Coach Rahul Dravid’s son Samit Dravid, an all-rounder, scored 19 runs when he was run out in Karnataka’s only innings. Samit, as a bowler,  bagged one wicket each in Uttarakhand’s first and second innings.
