BEML employees stage ‘Tamate Chaluvali’ against privatisation

Mysuru: Hundreds of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) employees under the banner of BEML Employees Association took to street this morning in protest against the proposed disinvestment move and privatisation of the Public Sector Unit (PSU).

The association members, officers and contract employees, as a part of their nation-wide protest, gathered in front of BEML factory in Belavadi Post at  6.30 am, protested by beating tamate and raised slogans against the Central Government 

The protestors said that the Centre was mooting to sell the 50-year-old profit yielding PSU and threatened to intensify the stir in the coming days if the idea was not dropped immediately. 

BEML Employees Association President H.Y. Munireddy, General Secretary M.V. Rajashekara Murthy, BEML Officers Federation officer-bearer B.R. Chennigappa and others were present.
