Bengaluru advocates must be indebted to Nadaprabhu: Former HC Judge

Mysuru: Former High Court Judge H.G. Ramesh has said that Nadaprabhu Kempegowda was responsible for Bengaluru advocates to lead a contented life.

He was speaking after inaugurating Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations organised by Mysuru Bar Association at the City Courts Complex here yesterday.

Observing that because of Nadaprabhu, Bengaluru advocates are earning much more now than earlier, Ramesh said that Bengaluru, founded by Kempegowda has now grown by leaps and bounds to become one of the biggest cities of the world.

Pointing out that Bengaluru is attracting many people from other parts of the State, he opined that advocates too are growing with the expansion of the capital.

Noting that Nadaprabhu Kempegowda had a great vision for Bengaluru, he said that water bodies, green cover and such other initiatives are the Bengaluru Founder’s contribution for the city.

Recalling his days in Mysuru as a junior lawyer and a lecturer, he attributed his success in the profession and as a High Court Judge to University of Mysore.

Cautioning Judges against falling prey to allurements, he said that though there may be an inadvertent error in judgement sometimes, necessary steps must be taken to ensure that such errors do not recur.

Observing that there is no retirement for advocates, the former HC Judge emphasised on the need for advocates to be always in the loop of learning.

Maintaining that learning from experience is more important than securing high marks in academics, he opined that attending to hearing in Court daily and studying the judgements will be of great help to the advocate fraternity.

Principal District and Sessions Court Judge Suresh K. Vantigodi in his address, lauded the contribution of Kempegowda. He pointed out that imbibing the values advocated by Kempegowda would be the best service we can do for the founder of Bengaluru.
