Bengaluru Open Challenger Tennis: City’s Suraj goes down to Frenchman Quentin Halys

Mysuru lad and Karnataka No.1 Men’s Tennis player Suraj R. Prabodh, a wild card entrant to the Bengaluru Open Challenger Tennis Event, went down to the sixth seeded Frenchman Quentin Halys in the first round of the Men’s Singles event played at KSLTA courts in Bengaluru yesterday.

Quentin Halys subdued Suraj 6-3, 6-1 and entered the pre- quarterfinals in the Men’s Singles event. Top-seeded Radu Albot was shocked by Yossef Hossam of Egypt 6-2, 2-6, 2-6 in the first round. Fourth seeded Prajnesh Gunneswaran of India beat Russia’s Ivan Nedelko 6-2, 6-2 to enter the second round.
