Bengaluru Open Challenger Tennis Mysuru’s Prajwal Dev, Vasisht go down in qualifiers

Mysuru lads S.D. Prajwal Dev and C. Vasisht, taking part in the qualifying rounds in the Men’s Singles event in the $1,50,000 Bengaluru Open Challenger, went down in the first round held at the KSLTA courts on Saturday.

Youseef Hossam (Egypt) beat Prajwal Dev 7-6 (3), 6-3, while Zizou Bergs (Bel) beat C. Vasisht 6-4, 6-3 to enter the second round in the qualifiers.

Meanwhile in the qualifying, five Indians V. Siddharth, V.M. Ranjeet, Arjun Khade, Sasikumar Mukund and Aryan Goveas advanced to the 2nd round.

Incidentally, Karnataka No.1 Suraj R. Prabodh from Mysuru, who earned a wild card for the Tournament by winning the wild card tourney, will take on 6th-seeded Frenchman and World No.145 Quentin Halys in main draw 1st round on Monday.
