Top-seed Suraj R. Prabodh from Mysuru, representing Karnataka in the Bengaluru Open Wild Card AITA Men’s Ranking Tennis Tournament played at KSLTA Courts in Bengaluru, clinched the coveted Men’s Singles title beating Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash (TN) 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3 in the final on Saturday evening. Suraj took home a cash prize of Rs.39,000 while Mohit was richer by Rs.27,000.
This win helped Suraj to earn a wild card entry for the ATP Challengers Men’s $15,00,000 prize money Men’s Bengaluru Open Challengers Tournament to be held at KSLTA in Bengaluru from Nov.12.
Suraj learnt his tennis from Mysore Tennis Club, Mysuru and presently trains at Harvest Tennis Academy, Jassowal.
He is being coached by Serbian coach Milos Pavlovic.
