Bengaluru pub assault case: CCB records Sunil Bose’s statement

Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths in Bengaluru who are probing the brutal assault by Mohammad Nalapad, son of MLA N.A. Haris, on L. Vidwath, son of a businessman at a pub in upscale U.B. City, have yesterday questioned Sunil Bose.

Sunil is the son of PWD and Mysuru District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa in connection with the case.

Mohammed Nalapad was booked for attempt to murder after he allegedly assaulted Vidwath on Feb. 17. Nalapad has been in jail since Feb. 19.

Sunil was present in the pub the day when the brutal assault took place.

Bose was summoned to the CCB office at Chamarajpet by Investigating Officer Ashwath Gowda. Bose was questioned about the incident to which he admitted that he was very much present at the pub on that day but had left the place when the assault occurred.

The CCB team recorded Sunil Bose’s statement and let him go, sources said.

According to sources, the enquiry by the CCB sleuths coming at a time when the Congress is contemplating on issuing tickets for the May 12 election will have a bearing on the candidature of Sunil Bose who is eying a ticket from either T. Narasipur or Nanjangud.
