Bengaluru’s Samarth Cricketers bag Sri Mayakara Cup

Samarth Cricketers of Bengaluru emerged victorious while Pathashala Seniors team of Mysuru was runners-up in the State-level  ‘Sri Mayakara Cup,’ a two-day Cricket Tournament organised by Priests and Astrologers at Railway Grounds in city that concluded on Sunday.

While the winner Samarth Cricketers was awarded Rs.10,000 cash prize and the trophy, the runners-up Pathashala Seniors received a cash prize of Rs.5,000.

K.R. MLA S.A. Ramdas, who spoke after distributing prizes, said that he was happy to note that Priests and Astrologers had organised this two-day Cricket Tournament.

Pointing out that Priests and Astrologers, by organising this Tournament, have proved that they were not restricted only to performing Pujas at temples and studying the Vedas, Ramdas said that sports must be played in the true spirit of a sportsman.

Highlighting the importance of grabbing every opportunity when it comes, Ramdas said that in politics, the winner will not even speak with the loser, but in sporting events, the winning team will hug the loser and this is true sportsman spirit.

District Brahmin Association President D.T. Prakash, retired Professor M. Mallanna, Mayakara Gurukula Founder Dr. Mugur Madhu Dikshith, S. Madhu of Rishab Ventures, Bhaskar, Ravikumar and others were present.
