H.D. Kote: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police have arrested a Block Education Officer (BEO) and the Office Superintended while they were accepting bribe to provide documents pertaining to pension and have launched a hunt to nab a Second Division Assistant (SDA), who is absconding.
Those arrested are H.D. Kote BEO Chandrakanth and Office Superintendent Shankar. The ACB sleuths are on a look out for SDA Ravikumar, who is absconding.
Details: One Siddaraju of Rampura in Nanjangud taluk, who was serving as a teacher at Changowdanahalli School in H.D. Kote taluk, retired from service on May 31.
To receive pension, Siddaraju had to submit certain documents to the Office of the Accounts General in Bengaluru. He then went to the BEO’s Office and submitted an application to SDA Ravikumar with a request to send all relevant documents to Bengaluru.
But, to send the documents to Bengaluru, BEO Chandrakanth and Office Superintendent Shankar demanded Rs. 9,000 bribe on June 19. Depressed over demand for bribe, Siddaraju lodged a complaint with ACB Officials in Mysuru.

The BEO and the SDA have been remanded to judicial custody. The ACB sleuths have also registered a case against SDA Ravikumar, who has gone absconding and the ACB Cops have launched a hunt to nab him. ACB Dy.SP Thammaiah, Inspector Chittaranjan and staff Mohan, Krishna, Chethan, Guruprasad, Manju, Pushpalatha and Yogesh took part in the operation.
