Best thesis awardee

Mysuru: S.M. Goutham Konikar, a M.Tech in Urban and Regional Planning student of The School of Planning and Architecture, University of Mysore, has been selected for the second prize of Prof. V.N. Prasad National Best Thesis Award-2017 by the Institute of Town Planners India, New Delhi, for his thesis titled ‘Planning for Sustainable Urban Transport for Mysuru City.’

The award comprises Rs. 20,000 cash and a certificate. He has also been invited to present his thesis and receive the award at the 66th National Town and Country Planners Congress to be held in Hyderabad from Feb. 2 to 4. He worked under the guidance of Associate Professors of School of Planning and  Architecture Dr. B. Shankar, Dr. H.N. Nagendra and Dr. H.S. Kumara.

Goutham Konikar is the son of Dr. S. Mokshapathy and G.C. Sheela. Presently, he is working as a guest faculty of Planning and Architecture in city.
