Bettadapura Sub-Inspector trapped by Lokayukta

Bettadapura: Lokayukta sleuths have trapped the Sub-Inspector of Bettadapura Police Station while he was accepting the bribe at the Police Station on Friday night.

The Sub-Inspector, who was caught, is Shivashankar.

Shivashankar had demanded a bribe of Rs. 80,000 to return the seized mobile phone and to do a favour in an attempt to murder case.

Based on a complaint from an Advocate, a team of Lokayukta Police, led by Inspectors Ashok Kumar and Ravi Kumar, raided Bettadapura Police Station on Friday night and caught Sub-Inspector Shivashankar red handed while he was accepting the bribe and seized the money.

Shivashankar was produced before a Court, which remanded him to Judicial Custody.
