Mysore/Mysuru: BSS Vidyodaya and RAAGA Music Academy, Mysuru, supported by Samskara Bharathi, are set to host this edition of Bhagini Raaga Sourabha featuring a grand Karnatak vocal concert by Vid. Niranjan Dindodi on May 16 at 6 pm at BSS Vidyodaya in Krishnamurthypuram here.
One of Karnatak music’s promising young voices, Vid. Niranjan Dindodi has already carved a name for himself in the rarefied world of Karnatak classical music. A B-High Graded Artiste at All India Radio (AIR), he has graced prestigious Sabhas across the country, earning the admiration of connoisseurs and critics alike.
His musical journey began at the age of five and currently trains under the esteemed Sangeetha Kalanidhi Vid. R.K. Shriramkumar, having also received formative guidance from luminaries including Vid. G. Ravikiran, Vid. K.V. Krishna Prasad, Vid. M.K. Tejaswini and Vid. Sampagodu Vighnaraja. The breadth and depth of his tutelage is reflected in his command over raga, rhythm and lyrical expression.
His accomplishments have been recognised at the highest levels. He is the recipient of the prestigious M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship awarded by Shri Shanmukhananda Sabha, Mumbai, for 2025-2027.
He has also been conferred the Upcoming Artiste of the Year 2025 award by Brahma Gana Sabha, Chennai; the Sangeetha Mudhra award by the celebrated Mudhra Sabha, Chennai; and the Ananya Nadajyoti Yuva Puraskara. Additionally, he is a recipient of the CCRT Scholarship for Young Artistes given by the Government of India.
For this concert, he will be accompanied by Vid. Keshav Mohankumar on violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching.
