Bhairava Purana and Mahayajna underway at Town Hall

Mysore/Mysuru: On the occasion of Bhairava Janmashtami, the Bhairava Purana and Mahayajna are being held in Mysuru at the Town Hall premises, from Nov. 5 to 12, in the gracious presence of Krishnagiri Peethadheeshwara, Jagadguru Acharya Sri Vasanth Vijayananda Giriji Maharaj of Krishnagiri.

During the Mahayajna held on Thursday, Sri Vasanth Vijayananda Giriji Maharaj shed light on the greatness of the Guru. He explained that the yellow colour is dedicated to Gurus and therefore, everyone was dressed in yellow attire.

Quoting the examples of Maryada Purushottama Lord Rama and the devoted and virtuous Sita, he said that the blessings of Gurus protect the values and the world, while the vows of a devoted wife safeguard her husband and family.

Expressing his views about Karnataka’s culture, land, water and people, he beautifully stated that Kannada is the most beautiful language on Earth. He further added that the history of this land is glorious and the governance of its kings, along with the goodwill and contributions of its people, are truly remarkable.

Prayers were offered to the four mothers — Mother Earth (Prithvi Mata), the Holy Cow (Gomata), Mother of the Universe (Jagat Mata) and the Birth Mother (Janmadatri Mata) — followed by the Ganesh Puja, Shiva Puja, Padmavati Puja and Mahalakshmi Puja.

B.A. Kailashchand Jain welcomed. Chandan Kumar Jain honoured the guests. On the occasion, Motaram Solanki, Subhash Jain of Siruguppa, Satish and Santosh of Anand Brothers, Shankesh Chhajed of Krishnagiri Teerth, Chandulal Jain and several local as well as national devotees participated.
