Bharatanatyam  Rangapravesha of Poorvika Chandanam

Mysore/Mysuru: Kala Sandesha Pratishtana, Mysuru, has organised Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of Poorvika Chandanam, a disciple of  Guru K. Sandesh Bhargav at Rama Govinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar here on Dec. 25 at 6 pm.

Veteran Theatre personality and Actor Mandya Ramesh will inaugurate the programme while internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam artiste Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy, renowned Musician and Musicologist Dr. R.S. Nandakumar, senior Natyaguru Natyacharya Vid. R. Kannan will be the guests of honour. Renowned musician and art critic Dr. Rama V. Bennur will be the chief guest. Pratishtana President Dr. D. Umapathy will preside.

Natuvangam will be by Guru K. Sandesh Bhargav. He will be accompanied by Vidu. Kanchana Shriranjani on vocal, Vid. Shivashankara Swamy on mridanga, Vid. Nithish Ammannaya on flute, Vid. C. Chethan on violin and Vid. Vinay Rangdhol on rhythm pad.

Profile: Poorvika, daughter of Chandrakala and H.M. Nanjundaswamy couple, is a dedicated and passionate dancer who started her artistic journey at the tender age of three. She is involved in the art field for over 15 years. Poorvika is a multifaceted artiste who is trained in Karnatak Classical Music, Light Music, Tala-laya, Gamaka Vachana and drama. She has completed Bharatanatyam Vidwat from KSEEB and is currently teaching to around 15 students. A lawyer by profession Poorvika is currently working as a Legal Associate at SmithDehn India Private Limited. She is the Managing Trustee of Janapada Kala Sinchana, Mysuru, Founder of IP Matters. She has performed at various renowned festivals including Mysuru Dasara, Shravanabelagola Mahamastakabhisheka etc.
