Bharath Cancer Hospital celebrates World Pharmacists Day

Mysuru: World Pharmacists Day was celebrated by Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO) at its premises in city recently.

Deputy Drugs Controller C.M. Shivakumar was the chief guest along with Drug Inspectors of Mysuru.

Dr. M. S. Vishveshwara, Director, BHIO, Mysuru and Chief Radiation Oncologist, Chaired the session along with Shivakumar.

Dr. Vishweshwara spoke about the importance of dispensing and regulations to be followed by the Pharmacist at counters.

Dr. H.V. Raghunandan, Head of Biopharmaceuticals and Pharmaceuticals, spoke about the importance of dispensing and the role of Pharmacist in Pharma Industry and Research.

He also highlighted the importance of electronic prescription which will be easy to read and becomes error-free.

Shivakumar spoke about the important roles of Pharmacist in the field of research, manufacturing and dispensing.

He emphasised on patient safety, attention to prescription, communicate with prescriber, work with patients on general health and inform them about adverse reaction, if any.

This programme was attended by registered Pharmacists from city along with Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists and Administration staff of BHIO.
