Bharatiya Gou Parivara writes 1.3 lakh letters to PM, CM seeking ban on cow slaughter

Mysuru: Members of the Mysuru branch of Bharatiya Gou Parivara submitted over 1.3 lakh letters (in bundles) to the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday, demanding a complete ban on cow slaughter in the country.

The letters are to be handed over to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of the State through the Deputy Commissioner.

The members said that the letters were collected as part of a national-wide Abhayakshara campaign started in 2017, which is aimed at sending letters to the PM and CM of the State calling for a complete ban on cow slaughter in the country.

Claiming that over one crore such letters are being sent from across the State as part of this movement, they maintained that several Pontiffs too have offered their solidarity by sending their letters demanding a total ban on cow slaughter.

Gou Parivara office-bearers Rakesh Bhat, Malini, Umashankar, Harini, Kumaragowda, leaders M.K. Premkumar, Vikram Iyengar, Deepak, Subramanya Bhat and others were present.
