BHASANGE Balaga’s 81st monthly concert on Apr.21

City’s cultural organisation Bhanuvara Sanje Geleyara Balaga, popularly known as BHASANGE Balaga, is presenting two Karnatak classical music vocal concerts at Vasudevacharya Bhavana of Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, JLB Road, Mysuru, on Sunday (Apr. 21) at 6 pm.

BHASANGE Balaga is providing platforms for young talents in the field of performing arts by organising events on a monthly basis. The artistes for the current month are two very talented young vocalists.

The first concert will be presented by Suhas Bharadwaj of Mysuru. Son of Premalatha and Rajendra Bharadwaj of Hassan, Suhas is a computer engineer, working as Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru. He started his musical journey at a very young age with Vid. B.N.S. Murali of Hassan. He has earned scholarships from Music and Dance Academy, Karnataka, in both classical and light music streams. He has completed his Vidwat exams conducted by KSEEB securing first rank.

Since many years, BHASANGE Balaga is hosting the top performers from Nadakishora competitions conducted every year by Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha.  For 2018-19 N.H. Sri Hari Bhat of Bengaluru received best male vocalist award and hence got himself a chance to perform under BHASANGE banner.

A young budding professional Karnatak vocalist, Bhat started learning Karnatak music at a tender age of 8 years under Mangala, D.V. Nagarajan and further has taken up Advanced Proficiency level training under the tutelage of Padma Shri awardee Dr. R.N. Tharanathan. Within few years of starting learning Karnatak vocal, his talent was recognised. He represented his school/college in inter-school/college events and won prizes and accolades. He also participated in music competitions held by prestigious organisations at State and National-levels and won prizes.

On Apr. 21, both artistes will be accompanied by M. Keshav on violin and Nandan Kashyap on mridanga. BHASANGE Balaga welcomes all music-lovers to the concert. Entry is free.
