Mandya:  The Bhoomi Puja for providing the main stage for the Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana will be held here on Nov. 22.

This was disclosed by Malavalli MLA P.M. Narendra Swamy after a meeting of the Stage (Dais) Committee at Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the town.

“The works of the Dais Committee is critical than other Committees. We need to provide one main dais and two parallel diases. Three responsible and efficient officers must be designated for this purpose. In addition to providing the dais for the event, we   need to decide on the venue for providing parking facilities. We are also supposed to provide media centre, commercial outlets, book shops, counters for distribution of food and stalls for other departments. All these works should be done in a systematic manner,” he said.

Dr. Kumara, Mandya DC, said that separate parking places have been identified for those coming from Mysuru side and from Bengaluru side. Free bus service will be in place from the parking place to the venue of Sahitya Sammelana. At the entry point of the event, information counters will be opened. A health centre will also be set up.
