Screams from other students force kidnappers to flee
Nanjangud: Two miscreants, who tried to kidnap an eight-year-old girl from her school, had to abort their plans and flee from the spot after the girl and her fellow students screamed for help.
The incident took place at the Government Higher Primary School at Hullahalli village in the taluk on Friday afternoon.
When the girl went to answer nature’s call in the afternoon, the kidnappers, who were hiding near the compound tried to drag the girl, who screamed for help thus alerting her fellow students, who rushed to the spot and began to scream for help forcing the kidnappers to leave the girl and flee from the spot.
Teachers, who comforted the girl, informed her parents about the incident and the School Head Master Ganesh lodged a complaint at Hullahalli Police Station.
The incident taking place in the School premises has sent shock to other parents and Hullahalli Police, based on the complaint, visited the School and collected information.
Meanwhile, Jaya Karnataka President Javaranayaka, who has expressed shock, alleged that the compound behind the School was in a dilapidated state and bushes, shrubs and weeds had overgrown in the School’s surrounding making it easy for miscreants to enter the School premises.
He demanded the authorities concerned to get the bushes and shrubs cleared and take steps to get the compound repaired at the earliest.
