Mysuru: Kuvempunagar Police have registered a case against a student from Bihar for pestering and harassing a city-based medical student, who was studying abroad, to love him and later uploading obscene morphed photos of the girl on social media.
The girl student, a resident of Nimishambha Nagar in city, while studying abroad, came to know the Bihar student identified as Ashutosh Vivan.
Ashutosh, who began to pester the girl to love him, later opened two social media accounts in the name of the girl and had uploaded messages abusing the lecturers of the college in which the girl was studying.
The college management, believing that the girl had uploaded the messages, initiated action against her. Not happy with it, Ashutosh uploaded the phone number of the girl in adult websites following which the girl began getting calls from strangers, thus harassing the girl mentally.
As the girl and her brother began getting calls during night from six mobile numbers, the girl blocked all the six phone numbers. Later, Ashutosh, who morphed the photos of the girl which were uploaded on her Instagram account into obscene photos, sent the photos to her brothers and even threatened to upload the photos to Karnataka Medical Group.
When the girl shifted from Ukraine to Georgia and began to study at a college there, Ashutosh, who allegedly created a fake Identity Card of the Ukraine College and sent e-mails to Georgia College giving bad opinions about the girl.
The girl and her family members had suffered mental harassment from Ashutosh for eight years. On Oct. 3, Ashutosh, who created a fake social media account had mentioned badly about the girl. When the girl requested the group admin to delete the messages, nothing was done to remove the messages from the group.
But when Ashutosh called the girl’s mother on WhatsApp and threatened that he was coming to Mysuru, the girl’s mother lodged a complaint at Kuvempunagar Police Station.
