Bike-lifter arrested: Two bikes worth about Rs. 35,000 recovered

Mysuru: Metagalli Police, who conducted a checking drive near J.K. Tyres on KRS Road here on Aug. 15, have arrested a man on charges of lifting two-wheelers in city.

The arrested person has been identified as Deepak alias Deepu, a resident of Bore Anandur village at Yelwal in the taluk.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing bikes in NR and Metagalli Police limits in city.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered one Hero Honda Splendor and a Bajaj Platina bikes worth about Rs. 35,000 from him.

The accused had earlier been arrested by the Metagalli Police for lifting two-wheelers and was remanded to judicial custody, but again took to stealing two-wheelers after coming out, it is learnt.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and N.R. Sub-Division ACP Umesh G. Shet supervised Metagalli Inspector H.T. Sunil Kumar, SI Vishwanath, ASI Ponnappa and staff Mallikarjunappa, Lingarajappa, Suresh, Shivakumar and Asha in the nabbing and  recovery operation.
