Bike rams into road divider: Tourist from West Bengal killed in Mysuru

Mysuru: A tourist from West Bengal was killed after the bike he was riding rammed into a road divider on Mysuru-Hunsur Road on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Somanath Mazumdar (34), a resident of Anandnagar in West Bengal.

Somanath, who had come on a tour on his Royal Enfield bike (MH-05-FF-9875), visited tourist spots in city and was on his way to Kodagu, when he hit the road divider at the turning near the petrol bunk and fell down resulting in him sustaining serious head injuries. Though he was admitted to a private hospital in city, Somanath succumbed to injuries. It is learnt that Somanath was following the directions given by Google Map from his phone which he had fixed to the bike handle. When he glanced at the map while negotiating the curve, he is said to have rammed the bike into the road  divider. Yelwal Police have registered a case.
