Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to create awareness on road safety among the public, Jeeva Raksha Trust, in association with Rotary Mysore Rotaract RI District 3181 and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), had organised Jeeva Rakshaka Road Safety Bikeathon-2022 yesterday.
About 200 bikers took part in the bikeathon which was flagged-off by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple near Palace North Gate here.
Jeeva Raksha Trust Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ram, Rotary Mysore President Rtn. S. Subramanyarao, Past President S. Manjeshkumar, Rotary Members R.K. Nikhil, Jaswant, Santhosh, Chethan, Venkatesh and others were present.
The bikers carried placards with road safety messages such as ‘Wear helmet and seat belt while driving’, ‘Do not drink and drive’, ‘Don’t talk while driving’ and ‘Do not speed up; drive safely’ etc… to create awareness among general public throughout their rally.
The rally passed through Hunsur Road, Gonikoppa, Virajpet before reaching Madikeri in the evening. Participants staged a street play on road safety on their way stopping at Gonikoppa, Virajpet and Madikeri. The bikers will return to Mysuru via Kushalnagar today after staging a street play at Kushalnagar.
