Mysuru: As a tribute to the legacy of Prof. B. Sheik Ali, the SSE Trust had organised a centennial celebration at Maulana Azad B.Ed College on Dr. Rajkumar Road in city recently.
Dr. H. Hanumanthappa, Senior Consultant Dermatologist, was the chief guest at the inaugural function along with other distinguished medical professionals.
Senior Surgeon and Laparoscopic Specialist Dr. G. Siddesh, one of the esteemed speakers, elaborated on the similarities between a skilled surgeon and a budding teacher, emphasising precision, patience and life-long learning.
Dr. S. Seetharam engaged the audience with a thought-provoking session on inculcating positive values and making education more engaging, underscoring the role of inspiration in shaping young minds.
Key highlight of the event was the practical CPR demonstration, where participants engaged in learning the technique, earning appreciation from attendees for their enthusiasm and commitment to emergency preparedness.
SSE Trust President Zakir Hussain lauded Prof. Ali’s invaluable contributions to education and society, giving a heartfelt closing note that encapsulated his vision and enduring influence.
Born on Nov. 10, 1925, Prof. Sheik Ali, an eminent historian and former Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore and Goa Universities, died in Mysuru on Sept. 1, 2022.
