Bishop’s message for Christmas

Mysuru: With just two days left for Christmas, Bishop of Mysuru Rev. Dr. K.A. William addressed a press meet at Bishop House in city this morning.

The Bishop said that Christmas symbolises the power of love, service and justice which all lead to peace across the globe. He observed that the consumerist society, with its idolatry of money and wealth, was badly in need of compassion and goodwill to counter hatred, terrorism and violence.

The Bishop recalled that during earlier days there was good harmony among people and contended that progress in education and technology had dwindled mutual respect. He advised parents to teach values to children. He further said that special prayers would begin at 11 pm tomorrow for Christmas at St. Philomena’s and other Churches in city. He hoped that this Christmas would bring peace and prosperity for all, leading to a bright and bountiful New Year 2018.

Vicar General Fr. Rayappa, St. Joseph’s Cathedral Parish Priest Fr. N.T. Joseph, Mysore Diocesan Education Society Secretary Fr. Vijay Kumar and Treasurer Fr. James Dominique were present.
