BJP member assaults JD(S) counterpart at Taluk Panchayat EO’s office

Mysuru:  Mysuru Taluk Panchayat JD (S) member Hanumanthu of Srirampura Constituency was allegedly assaulted in the office of the Executive Officer by BJP member Manjunath of Vajamangala Constituency on Thursday.

Executive officer Lingaraju has lodged a complaint in that context with Nazarbad Police.

JD(S)-BJP alliance is holding power at Mysuru Taluk Panchayat. As per agreed terms when TP President Kalamma Kemparamaiah failed to resign from her post JD(S) and BJP member had planned a No Confidence Motion to be tabled at the special meeting on Wednesday. Owing to the absence of JD(S) and BJP member, the proposed No Confidence Motion was failed. It is learnt that Hanumanthu and Manjunath had quarreled on the topic on mobile phone.

 Hanumanthu along with Srirampura Gram Panchayat President Chudamani and Vice-President Usha had come to TP office on Thursday and discussing with Lingaraju on problems in the region of Srirampura.

Manjunath was said to have barged into the EO’s chamber and assaulted Hanumanthu with a helmet. Chudamani and Usha tried to prevent Hanumanthu from further assault. The attack has been recorded on CCTV camera.

Hanumanthu got treated at KR Hospital.
