Mysuru: Alleging that the State Congress Government was pursuing an anti-farmer policy and had failed on all fronts, the District Unit of the BJP will take out a week-long Padayatra across the district from tomorrow (Oct. 8).
Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning, District BJP President M. Shivanna said that the Padayatra is also aimed at making Mysuru, a chemical-free agricultural district by 2024.
MP Pratap Simha, State BJP Vice-President V. Sreenivasa Prasad and State BJP Raitha Morcha President C.H. Vijayashankar will flag off the Padayatra at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the North Gate of Palace at 11 am. The Padayatra will pass through Milk Dairy, Siddartha Layout, Alanahalli, Chikkahalli, Varuna, to reach Vajamangala later in the night.
On Oct.9, the Padayatra will continue its journey from Vajamangala to Bannur; Oct. 10 – Bannur to T. Narasipur; Oct. 11 – T. Narasipur to Nagarle, Oct. 12- Nagarle to Kadakola; Oct.13 – Kadakola to Dhanagalli; Oct.14 – Dhanagalli to Mysuru city, he said and added that hundreds of BJP activists will take part in the Padayatra.
Party office-bearers Prasanna N. Gowda and M. Ramesh were present during the press meet.
