Mysuru: Desiranga Samskruthika Samsthe had organised a programme in memory of Writer late K. Ramdas at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here on Sunday which featured an interaction and a book release.
Inaugurating the programme by beating a drum, Senior Journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu opined that people should develop the straight forwardness of the greats like K. Ramdas, P. Lankesh and Kuvempu, which of course demands a good degree of morality and dedication. He bemoaned that most of the parents today desire their children to become engineers and doctors, settle abroad and mint money. That craze has transformed many villages into ‘Vruddhashramas’ or home for the aged. Children are not encouraged to know about history and humility who are more conversant with whatsApp which itself is alike to a university awarding degrees, quoted Dinesh.
Congress is dead
Switching to politics, Dinesh said that everyone with common political knowledge knows that Congress is dead. “The internal squabble of coalition parties paved way for the triumph of BJP in the State which is a clear indication of selfish politics. Superstition and religion are of utmost importance now with places of worship turning into party offices. Congress, the grand old party has not made any serious effort to introspect the humiliating defeat in the recent LS polls,” regretted Dinesh.
Dinesh recalled Swaraj India President Yogendra Yadav telling him once that Congress must die and pointed out that it has come true now.
