Blackmailing CNNL Managing Director case: Court dismisses RTI activist’s bail petition

Mysore/Mysuru: The Third Additional Sessions Court has dismissed the bail petition of RTI activist Anand Mudaliar alias Anand M. Kalki, who has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Limited (CNNL) Managing Director Mahesh. The bail petition was dismissed by Third Sessions Court Judge Bhagya.

Since about four months, Anand was sending letters to the house of CNNL MD Mahesh, the contents of which were far from truth resulting in shock to Mahesh’s wife Namratha and his two minor children.

Later, when Namratha enquired about the letters with Mahesh, he (Mahesh) told her that Anand was pestering for money and since he refused to give money, he (Anand) was posting such letters to his house address.

Mahesh also told his wife that Anand in order to tarnish his image in front of her, his parents, family members and society, had uploaded two to three videos on social media.

Later, Namratha approached Vijayanagar Police and had lodged a complaint.
