A senior citizen’s appeal to MCC Commr.
Sir,
I wish to bring to the attention of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities the extremely poor condition of the underground drainage (UGD) system in front of our house (No. 58, 10th Main Road, Sanmarga, Siddarthanagar).
The drainage pipes/ system in our road have been repeatedly getting blocked due to faulty construction and perhaps due to inadequate maintenance by MCC.
Whenever there is even a moderate flow of wastewater, the drains overflow, resulting in stagnant water, foul odour, mosquito breeding and unhygienic conditions that pose serious health risks to the residents.
Despite several oral complaints and follow-ups, no action has been taken so far.
In addition to this, I, being a concerned senior citizen, have visited MCC Office and explained in detail the problems faced by us due to faulty UGD.
The situation has now become unbearable and taxpaying residents are left with no option but to seek immediate intervention through this newspaper.
We request the MCC Commissioner to take prompt cognisance of the issue, conduct a thorough inspection of the UGD network and carry out necessary repairs or replacements without further delay.
