20 international bloggers to visit iconic attractions and broadcast their experiences to global audience
Mysuru: A ‘Bloggers Meet’ will be held in Mysuru from Sept. 11 to 14, aimed at showcasing the city’s rich cultural heritage and promoting tourism.
The event, titled ‘Bloggers Meet-2024’ (Discover Mysuru Fame), is organised in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and the Karnataka State Tourism Department. M.K. Savitha, Joint Director, Tourism Department, Mysuru Division, is spearheading the event’s preparations.
In preparation for the upcoming Dasara festival, a meeting was held at Jaladarshini Guest House on Wednesday, where District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa was briefed on strategies to enhance tourism in Mysuru through the ‘Bloggers Meet’.
On Sept. 11, 20 international bloggers will arrive in Mysuru to visit iconic attractions such as the Mysore Palace, St. Philomena’s Church, Chamundi Hill, Devaraja Market, Silk Factory, Railway Museum, Lalitha Mahal Palace, Folklore Museum, Indira Gandhi National Manav Sangrahalay, and the UNESCO Heritage Site of Somanathapura.
These influencers will capture and broadcast their experiences to a global audience, significantly amplifying the city’s tourism reach. These bloggers have a good number of followers and they are expected to draw visitors to Mysuru and surrounding areas, inspired by their video posts, descriptions and writings.
Throughout their four-day stay, the bloggers will immerse themselves in local experiences, including Mysuru’s famed Tonga rides and the Ambari double-decker bus tour. This hands-on exploration will not only give them a deeper connection to the city but also inspire authentic content that will promote Mysuru’s tourism potential on their social media platforms.
Somanathapura festival on Sept. 12
On Sept. 12, a festival at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of 13th century Chennakeshava Temple at Somanathapura will take centrestage, with participation from the Deputy Director of the Indian Tourism Department. Key social media influencers and bloggers will also attend, further elevating Mysuru’s visibility on the global tourism map.
Officials told Star of Mysore that plans are on the anvil to promote Somanathapura as part of Mysuru tourism circuit and there will be cross-promotion of Somanathapura among other popular places of tourist interest in Mysuru line like the Mysore Palace, Mysuru Zoo, Chamundi Hill, Srirangapatna and also the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam and Brindavan Gardens though the KRS Dam is in Mandya District.
The intention is to draw the tourists to Somanathapura from places in Mysuru and from Mysuru, the tourists will be drawn to Somanathapura. Information boards promoting and cross-promoting these tourist destinations will be put up at vantage points to grab attention.
