Mysore/Mysuru: Youth Red Cross Unit of St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, had organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Lions Blood Centre, Mysore Jeevadhara and sponsored by HDFC Bank on Nov. 22 at the College auditorium.
The programme was hosted by Mathew of the Department of Social Work in the presence of Rev Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis (Rector), Rev Fr. Maria Xavier (Vice-Rector), Dr. Ravi J.D. Saldana (Principal), Dr. Chandana (Jeevadhara Blood Bank), Poornima (Assistant Vice-President, HDFC City Branch, Mysuru) and William. Joseph, Head, Department of English, welcomed.
Dr. Chandana spoke about the do’s and dont’s of blood donation camps. Poornima also spoke. Deepti proposed the vote of thanks.
The camp kick-started with Rector/Manager of St. Philomena’s educational institution Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis being the first blood donor of the day.
Around 67 volunteers donated blood and received a certificate and memento with the slogan, “I am a proud blood donor.”
